Bamby is a New York-based fine art and fashion photographer. He was born and raised in a small town in New Jersey. There he discovered his interest in photography and began his obsession with suburbia, and the characters who live there. Bamby’s work explores the enigmatic quirkiness of the “American small town"; drawing upon old technicolor films, mid-century advertising, and snapshots for aesthetic inspiration. Bamby’s photographs create a visual world that celebrates the cozy and peculiar nostalgia of a bygone era. He explored his intrigue in vintage clothing while working at a vintage clothing shop as a teenager. He furthered that passion through costuming for theatre, as well as costuming his own work. His influences include photographers Cindy Sherman and Bill Owens, as well as film directors Tim Burton and Douglas Sirk.
